Having trouble

Having trouble

Postby Fredep » Mon Mar 08, 2010 11:50 am

I just downloaded v0.28.0 and am having issues.

I opened the debugger and that seems to be OK> However, I click the "explore" folder/icon, and the dialog box "Save as" comes up. I click the Save icon, and the same box comes up.

I then clicked on the source file I wanted, and it opens fine in the debugger. Now, I click on "Step into" (the first line is an include file that I know it is where it should be and is OK). An error box comes up and I tried to send it to you but it would not go, said send manually. I would like to use this, but am having a difficult time.

My system is WIndows XP SP3 , .NET Framework 1.1, 2.0 Service Pack 2, 3.0 Service Pack2 and 3.5 SP1

Help please.

Try v0.29.0 this should fix the problem with stepping into debug mode.

The Explorer function is really to open the folder containing the currently open file. I think that you were clicking on the button without a file loaded, so by default it will attempt to save the current file, then open the folder you saved it to.

Downloaded, but got an error when installing.

Error is
Error opening file for writing:
C:\Program Files\AutoIt3\AutoItDebugger\AutoIt Debugger.exe

Not sure, but did uninstall of old v28 before this.

Let me know

OK, Figured out the install. Seems the Autoit Debugger folder was NOT removed during the uninstall process. Moved it to recycle bin, reinstalled and it is now installed.

However, upon clicking the AutoIt Debugger from the Start menu, no "Open File" dialog box comes up. Just the debugger with a blank window.

I guess I am just brain dead - can't seem to make this work like the instructions say.

Maybe you have never used Office 2007 or Win 7.

You should have a blank au3 doc open called Untitled.au3 in which you can start programming, or you can click the Orb in the top left corner and it will bring up a menu to allow you to open an existing file, save, etc.
